Upon trying various stints at my life's calling, I decided to pursue something that I always found challenging, entertaining, and basically a passion.  At the time, I thought I wanted to be this town's next great commercial photographer.  While learning the ropes, I got dragged kicking and screaming to photograph a family wedding.  Reinsert Jason carrying bags and talking me off the ledge.  What I didn't expect is that I really enjoyed myself.  The leashes were broken and I was free to capture things however I best saw fit.  With my sturdy "pack mule" by my side, I began to wonder if this is what I was truly meant to do.  It was a couple weddings later when I told Jason to pick up a camera and get some additional pictures.  To my pleasant surprise, many of Jason's images made it past the cutting room floor. It was a revelation that soon led to the forming of Staja Studios.  I just love that it was a chance encounter that brought us together and soon led us to find our passionate pursuits versus a job!

Although trends come and go, the one thing that won't change is why we started this business and it's name!  It truly is who we are.  It's part STAcey and JAson, and if we are lucky, someday it will be part of who our kids are.  Grounded by our roots and influenced by the things we love, the one thing we strive for in our work is to provide an experience that will never go out of style.  From the moment we meet to when your grandchildren crack open your wedding album, we want your reflections of us and your images to stand the test of time!

In an effort to continually grow and be better than we were the day before, we are very active within the photography community both locally and nationally.  Between attending workshops and seminars, to being asked to lead a group of local photographers, we love to both learn and teach.  Photography has been so good to us personally and professionally that when all is said and done, we hope we were able to give something back to it.
